SFRA Background
The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, incorporated August 10, 1948, is authorized and organized under the provisions of the California Community Redevelopment Law ("CCRL").

SFRA Commissioners
Seven Commissioners appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Supervisors govern the Agency. The Commission makes all policy determinations for the implementation of the Agency's programs.

How Financing Works

SFRA Budget
The Agency funds its budget primarily with tax increment and proceeds from the sale of bonds secured with tax increment. Tax increment is merely a portion of property taxes generated within redevelopment project areas.
